Leaf Dog
Leaf Dog has been dabbling with wordplay for the best part of ten years. One third of underground heroes The Three Amigos and beat maker to the stars, the time has come for Leaf Dog to add his debut solo release to an already bulging back catalogue of crew releases, live plaudits, guest features and production credits.
In a world where reinventing and re-evaluating everything has become standard practice, Leaf Dog is an example of an artist who remains dedicated to the principles that make underground hip hop one of the most exciting forms of musical expression on the planet. Leaf is a true devotee to the inventive punchlines, catchy hooks and classic boom bap beat patterns. From stage to street corner, from digging in the crates to beat battles, Leafdog’s output is driven by the traditions that made underground hip hop what it is today.
Either as a solo artist or as part of The Three Amigos, alongside fellow emcee BVA and producer Naive, Leaf Dog has gained a strong following across the land for coming with a truly unique style when delivering some of the realest lyrics around.
His unique outlook has seen Leaf and his gang support a long list of renowned artists on the live circuit including KRS One, Lord Finesse, M.O.P., The Godfather of Noyze Rahzel, the almighty Sugar Hill Gang and DJ hall-of-famer Cash Money, and names such as Foreign Beggars, Skinny Man, Klashnekoff, Terra Firma, Task Force, Million Dan and Blak Twang from this side of the pond.
It is one thing performing on the same stage as such illustrious names, but Leaf Dog does not stop there. Having turned his attentions to beat making three years ago, Leaf Dog has already racked up a hugely impressive list of collaborations with all star names such as Rass Kass, Kool G Rap, Vinnie Paz, Killah Priest, U-God, Styles P, Jean Grae, Sadat X, Cella Dwellas, Rack Lo, Rampage, Diamond D, Lord Have Mercy, Canibus, Q Unique, Buddha Monk, and Kurupt blessing his beats.
And if all this wasn’t enough… Leaf Dog’s 2011 High Focus Records debut release ‘From A Scarecrow’s Perspective’ Featuring Rampage (Flipmode Squad), Diamond D (D.I.T.C.), Fliptrix and Verb T is now considered a modern day classic. On top of this Leaf’s stellar vocal performances and epic signature production on The Four Owls’ ‘Nature’s Greatest Mystery’ & “Natural Order’ albums is also going down in history as one of UK Hip Hop’s finest exports to date, only further solidified by the incredible 2017’s ‘Dyslexic Disciple’ LP.
It is fair to say that Leaf Dog, the man with the golden touch, is taking over the scene by storm, whether behind the mic, on production or live on stage.
